Hail and well met, my name is Ashlee and I am a budding primatologist who just so happens to be among the apes. I recently graduated from a Big 10 university with a degree in Anthropology. At the moment, I am biding my time for a year before I apply to graduate school for my Master’s degree. I can be reached at macacaque@gmail.com.
I have no idea what I’m going to do for the rest of my life–I debate this and have a quarter-life crisis almost every three months. I’ve done a lot of things in my time related to primates: field work, captive research studies, librarian work at a primate library, and I figured I’d try my hand at blogging. If I can work for primates in some capacity, I’ll be pretty happy. Until then, I’ll do my best to increase knowledge on primates and keep educating the masses as to why it’s important to keep these guys around beyond just being a reminder of our evolutionary ancestry and being the cutesy-wutesy zoo-dwellers. Every now and then I touch on other anthropological issues related to culture or politics (they’re important to human primates!), but the majority of the focus is on non-human primates.
I just want to do serious monkey business for the rest of my life.

Good luck. Looking forward to read more of your blog posts.
So excited to be following your blog Ashlee! Keep up the good work.
I’m a student at UW-Madison interested in getting into primatology. I met Zach and he told me to look up your blog and get in touch with you. I love what I’m reading here so far!
